ONLY goaltending violations that were called on the floor by the referees can be reviewed through a video replay, according to one of the nine rule changes that will be implemented for the 50th Season of the PBA.
The rule change was an offshoot of the controversial Game 1 of the PBA 49th Season Philippine Cup Finals between San Miguel and TNT which was marred by a Mo Tautuaa dunk that was ruled a goal-tending by officials.

During the final seconds of that match, Tautuaa scored on a dunk with 56 seconds left that gave the Beermen a 97-96 lead, only for the goal to be nullified with only 6.2 seconds remaining after a review by the technical committee.
The rule changes were disclosed during the PBA’s pre-season press conference on Wednesday at the Shangrila The Fort in Taguig City.
Under the new rules, two-, three-, or four-point shots can no longer be corrected when the game has ended. A rule that says teams will be in penalty after two fouls in the last two minutes will now also apply in the first to third quarters.

In other rules changes, teams can now huddle while a video challenge is ongoing; players who shot an airball can grab his own miss and is deemed a live ball, and excessive swinging of the elbows will now be called as a technical foul instead of an offensive foul.
Offensive fouls will also count as team fouls during this season; and throwing the ball with a clear vision to the head will now merit a flagrant foul one.
