EMOTIONS got the better of Bill Walker in NLEX’s 85-72 loss to Ginebra in the PBA Governors’ Cup on Wednesday night.

The Road Warriors import lamented what he felt was one-sided officiating that led to his frustration and poor offensive production in the team’s second straight defeat in three games.

“I’m just getting tired of getting beat up every game and I can’t touch anybody,” Walker said. “It’s the frustrating part about it: just every game, you can’t be physical, but guys are allowed to be physical with me.”

The returning import recalled one play in the first quarter where he got “pushed to the ground and somebody just comes in and runs me over while I’m already on the ground. But if I react in any type of way, I got a technical.”

“It’s just frustrating, but I got to do a better job keeping my composure and stay focused in the game for my teammates,” he said.

NLEX coach Boyet Fernandez understood where Walker was coming from, but preached patience to the prolific import.

"Siguro kasama na rin sa frustration as well as 'yung calls na hindi niya nakukuha," he said. "But eventually I told him that when you're playing such a popular team like Ginebra, you just have to play your game."

Walker did credit the Gin Kings’ defense that held him to just 18 points on 8-of-17 shoooting after the NBA veteran averaged over 38 in his first two games.

“(They had) five guys packing the paint and I really couldn’t attack because every time I drive, I got ten arms around me,” the 6-foot-5 American cager said. “They did a good job in taking the ball out of my hands and trying to make the other guys beat them.”

Walker finished with 13 boards, one block, and one assist against five turnovers in 39 minutes.

“I just got to play. There’s no adjusting. It is what it is,” he said. “I just got to find a way to get it done. I’ll go back, watch the game and look at ways I could’ve attacked, and things I could’ve done differently and get ready for the next game.”
