MIKE Singletary isn't about to let himself gert affected whether he'll just be a temporary import for San Miguel Beer nor not.

All he wants is just to play.

"I just got to play basketball," said Singletary after playing in his PBA comeback game Wednesday night with the Beermen. "It's not a bad situation at all. I got to play with good players, good competition. What more can you ask for."

Singletary didn't do bad in his first game as a replacement for the injured AZ Reid, scoring 21 points and grabbing 20 rebounds in San Miguel's 110-106 win over Meralco in the Governors Cup.

The 27-year-old Singletary also credited Reid for giving him unsolicited advice on how to play with the Beermen and fit in to San Miguel’s playing system.

“AZ has been helping me a lot, telling me what would have been about the different guys and how they play. So he’s really a big help,” he said of the former two-time Best Import, who’s currently recuperating from an Achilles heel injury.

It was the first game of Singletary in the pro league since 2013 when he suited up for Barako Bull. And the difference in the game is noticeable, according to the Texas Tech alum.

"When I played the last time it’s a lot more physical. You can get away with a lot of hand checks, and all that kind of stuffs," he stressed. "Its’a different level of game right now."

Despite the seeming ease in which he blended with June Mar Fajardo, Arwind Santos, Alex Cabagnot, and the rest of the Beermen, Singletary still sees his partnership with the team as a work in progress.

“We still have some kinks to work out,” he said.
