MERALCO and Magnolia Chicken Timplados will open the PBA 49th Season on Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Coming off its Philippine Cup title conquest, the Bolts take on the Hotshots in the lone game on opening day of the Governors' Cup at 7:30 p.m.
The opening ceremony is slated at 5 p.m. at the conclusion of the 48th Season Leo Awards honoring the top individual performers from last season.
The awards rites begin at 4 p.m.

Meralco starts off the conference with Allen Durham making his return game after four years, looking to finally break through with a championship in the import-laden tournament.
The Bolts, though, will have their hands full as they face a Hotshots squad that is reinforced by former NBA player Glenn Robinson III.
The PBA released its schedule with six playdates a week from Tuesday to Sunday across a month of elimination rod games.
Aside from the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, games will also be held at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium with out-of-town matches slated in Candon City, Cagayan De Oro, and Panabo City.
