MERALCO is tapping one of its EASL imports as temporary replacement in the PBA Commissioner's Cup.
Zach Lofton will take over the spot left behind by the injured Suleiman Braimoh as the Bolts try to sustain their winning ways in the season-opening conference.
Meralco coach Luigi Trillon confirmed the decision of the team to have Lofton come in as a replacement for Braimoh.
Lofton, who reinforces the team in the EASL in tandem with Prince Ibeh, was officially measured on Thursday at the PBA office and came in at 6-foot-3 7/16.
The 31-year-old Lofton, who previously suited up for the Detroit Pistons, will be eligible to play for Meralco (4-1) on Sunday when it battles Northport.
Braimoh went under the knife on Tuesday after suffering a torn Achilles in Meralco's 99-96 win over NLEX.
