MERALCO is bringing in Prince Ibeh as its second import for its campaign in the EASL (East Asia Super League) Home And Away Season 2.
Coach Luigi Trillo said the 6-foot-10 Ibeh will team up with Suleiman Braimoh when the Bolts make their debut in the regional meet on Nov. 15 against reigning B.League champion Ryukyu Golden Kings in Okinawa Arena in Japan.
Although Trillo said the Bolts will still evaluate Ibeh in practice, the 29-year-old British-Rwandan appears to be a good fit to the team owing to his past record playing for the Northport Batang Pier.
“We’ve heard he had (played) 100 games last year so he’s been moving around the world. I think with Ibeh, what is important was from Northport, maganda yung pakikisama niya with the players and he does his role well,” noted Trillo during the PBA Media Day at the Esplanade.
Ibeh, a member of the Rwandan national team, had two previous stints with the Batang Pier during the 2019 and 2022 Commissioner’s Cup, respectively.
