MERALCO is set to bring in a third import this 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup as Delroy James reinforces the squad for its final four games.
Team manager Paolo Trillo confirmed that the 32-year-old slotman is poised to suit up for the Bolts on Saturday for their all-important game against Magnolia in Zamboanga City.
James is a 6-foot-8 bruiser who spent his collegiate years with Rhode Island before suiting up for the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA G-League.
The Guyana-born forward has also been an international journeyman, playing in Israel, Italy, Russia, Turkey, Greece and Lebanon.
James last suited up for Greek squad AEK Athens in its championship run in the 2019 Fiba Intercontinental Cup, averaging 13.5 points and 7.5 rebounds.
He will replace Gani Lawal, who continues to deal with a hamstring injury.
James will be the third import Meralco has flown to the country after Lawal's original replacement Jimmie Taylor failed to impress in his lone game against TNT.
