MERALCO and Blackwater face each other in a bid to stay within striking distance for a quarterfinal spot on Friday in the 2022-23 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
PBA schedule November 11
The Bolts and the Bossing clash at 5:45 p.m.
Languishing at the bottom half of the team standings, Meralco and Blackwater eye a win in order to keep themselves in the hunt for the top eight.
Meralco is currently in 12th place with a 2-5 win-loss record but is coming off a 92-89 win over Bay Area to arrest its losing streak in the first game of new import KJ McDaniels, who had 31 points in the game.
Blackwater, on the other hand, is at 11th but is on a three-game skid with a 3-6 card and only has a better record due to a higher winning percentage. The Bossing were defeated by Blackwater, 91-69, in their previous outing.
In the first game, Bay Area looks to get back to its winning ways against Rain or Shine.
The Dragons lost to Meralco to go down to 6-2, and have slid down to third after Converge launched itself to second after being on a six-game winning streak.
Myles Powell returns as import for Bay Area for the rest of the conference, replacing Andrew Nicholson. The Dragons had to make a decision on their import following a guideline that one of their imports will play in the first four games, the other on the next four matches.
The Elasto Painters will parade a new import in Ryan Pearson, replacing Steve Taylor Jr. in a bid to strengthen their quarterfinal chances.
Rain or Shine is in a tie for sixth place with TNT with a 4-4 win-loss record after its 76-75 victory over NorthPort.
