MATT Nieto will continue to be a Road Warrior.
NLEX management signed the guard out of Ateneo to a two-year contract extension despite the early exit of the team in the PBA Philippine Cup playoffs.
Nieto signed the deal on Thursday at the NLEX office in Balintawak.
Fresh contract for Nieto
“Siyempre masaya ako na binigyan ako ng extension ng NLEX. Dito ako lumaki at nag-mature sa team na ito,” he said.
Nieto was an original pick by the Road Warriors as part of the special Gilas draft during the 2019 rookie draft.
NLEX president Luigi Bautista and team governor Ronald Dulatre were around when Nieto signed the contract.
Nieto coming back for another tour of duty with the Road Warriors meant solidifying their backcourt bannered by the high-scoring Robert Bolick.
NLEX waits for Kevin Alas
The potential return of resident point guard Kevin Alas by next year will also make NLEX’s backcourt a formidable one.
