MARVIN Hayes and Jaypee Belencion have joined Limitless App in the PBA 3x3, marking their comeback in the pro league.
Phoenix Super LPG team manager Paolo Bugia confirmed the signing of Hayes and Belencion to their 3x3 team that will carry the Limitless App brand. The two players will take the place of Mike Gamboa and Jorey Napoles, who sustained injuries in the build-up to the 3x3 league.
Hayes and Belencion will join Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser and Reymar Caduyac in the lineup of the Appmasters, who will usher the PBA 3x3 first leg against Purefoods TJ Titans on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Long way back
Hayes and Belencion are years removed from their previous stints in the PBA.
The 35-year-old Hayes last played for Phoenix in 2017, before moving to the MPBL where he played with Manila and Sarangani.
Belencion’s last PBA foray was with GlobalPort in 2014, with the 35-year-old also having stops in the PBA D-League and MPBL, most recently with the Pasay Voyagers.
The Appmasters will be led by Rosser, one of the highly-touted Fil-foreigners who didn’t make it to the recent PBA draft after he failed to complete his documents in time.
Caduyac, who played college ball with Lyceum, was picked in the third round, 34th overall by Phoenix in the recent draft.
