Mark Yee presides over rout of Strikers as Tigers extend MPBL streak to 12

    Dec 14, 2018

BACOOR - Davao Occidental continued its rampage in the MPBL Datu Cup, adding host team Bacoor to its growing list of victims at the Strike Gymnasium.

The Tigers devoured the Strikers, 69-50, and extended their winning streak to 12 - just two shy of matching the longest streak ever in the two-season history of the league posted by Bataan, whose winning run was snapped by San Juan a few days ago.

More importantly, the latest win enabled the Tigers to strengthen their hold of the solo lead in the southern division at 14-3.

Mark Yee posted his ninth double-double performance in the league. The 6-foot-3 PBA journeyman finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

But it was defense which keyed the win for Davao Occidental, which held the Strikers to just 29-percent shooting from the field (20-of-68).

Only Gab Banal ended up in double figures for Bacoor with 11 points, but it wasn't enough to save the Strikers from absorbing their eighth loss in 16 games, tied with the Parañaque Patriots-F2 Logistics for fourth to fifth places in the southern division.
