MARCIO Lassiter deflected credit for his timely three-point connections to his San Miguel Beer teammates, who he said found him in Game Two of the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals against Alaska on Sunday night.

The SMB sniper sustained his deadly form from long range, hitting five treys, including two down the stretch that cut the deficit and gave the Beermen the lead for good on the way to a 103-95 win.

“I got to give credit to my teammates because it's them who made it possible for me to get these wide-open shots,” Lassiter said. “I just had to be ready and knock down the shots.”

Chris Lutz located Lassiter for a triple from the left corner that nudged them to 95-93 with two minutes and 21 seconds to go, before Reid dished it off to Lassiter for a triple in the same exact spot that gave them the lead for good at 98-95, time down to one minute.

“If AZ didn't pass it out from a double-team and if Alex (Cabagnot) didn't pass it to Chris and he didn't pass it to me, that shot's not going up,” said Lassiter, who finished with 17 points in 37 minutes.

“It starts with our big guys, June Mar (Fajardo) and AZ,” the Filipino-American wingman added. “And we're an inside to out team and when they double, we just got to be ready to knock down shots.”

Beermen coach Leo Austria admitted Lassiter was their third option after Fajardo and Reid in the endgame.

“Last four plays namin is for Marcio to be at corner, just in case there was no option for June Mar at the post and AZ on the pick and roll.”

“Talagang pinakita niya (Lassiter) na he’s the top shooter in the PBA right now,” Austria added.

And Lassiter is flattered after hearing Austria’s remark.

“Definitely it’s a great praise, but I'm just working every day, continuing to work on my craft,” the former Gilas Pilipinas standout said. “I work hard to shoot threes.”

“I want to expand my game, provide what the team needs. I can't do it without my teammates. It's a great feeling to be a part of this team.”
