MARCIO Lassiter has suffered an MCL sprain in his left knee, ruling him out for Game One of San Miguel's semifinals series on Saturday.
Team manager Gee Abanilla bared the news to Spin.ph on Thursday morning.
"Ang sabi ng PT na kasama niya kagabi, it's an MCL sprain and something with the meniscus na kailangang mainterpret ni Dr. (George) Canlas. They gave him meds already and he is resting at home now," the amiable executive said.
Lassiter hurt his left knee following an on-air knee-to-knee collision with a driving Garvo Lanete in the second quarter of their quarterfinal showdown on Wednesday.
The Fil-Am sniper was immediately subbed out at the 3:22 mark of the frame and brought immediately to Cardinal Santos Medical Center for an MRI.
The knee injury is expected to sideline Lassiter, who is also a part of the Gilas Pilipinas pool, for at least a week or even more, depending on the severity of the MCL sprain.
San Miguel is still awaiting the final report on the injury.
The Beermen will sorely miss Lassiter's averages of 12.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game, on top of him giving the team a dead-shot threat from beyond the arc.
San Miguel faces either Blackwater or Rain or Shine, which dispute the last ticket on Thursday evening.
