SAN Miguel may have tied the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals at one apiece following a 102-88 win on Friday, but Marcio Lassiter’s shooting woes should be a cause for concern.

One of the best shooters in the country, Lassiter was once again held to single digits as he finished Game Two with just eight points on 2-9 shooting from the field.

What’s even more alarming is that the Fil-Am gunner has yet to make a single three pointer in the series after missing all of his five three pointers in Game Two.

For the series, Lassiter has missed 11 straight three pointers, and made just 5-of-19 shots from the field as a whole, good for eight points a game.

That was a major drop off from his production in the elimination round where he averaged 15.4 points while drilling 3.2 three-pointers a game on an ultra-efficient 42.2 percent shooting from downtown.

His teammates, though, aren’t worried at all.

Arwind Santos, the guy who led San Miguel’s comeback from a 17-point deficit on Friday night, has no doubt Lassiter will eventually rediscover his touch.

“Kami naman, lagi naman kami may tiwala sa isa’t isa. Siguro kay Marcio, may mga times na talagang off-night ka. Naniniwala kami na puputok din yan,” said Santos.

Chris Ross echoed Santos' sentiments, adding that while Lassiter hasn’t been shooting very well – it doesn’t mean that he has not been contributing.

“I mean, you make some and you miss some,” Ross said. “Just because he's not making shots doesn't mean he's not playing well. I think he was +20 or something in the plus-minus (efficiency rating) so he's doing good things out there.”

Despite Lassiter’s woes, he’s still the player who logs the most minutes for the Beermen, averaging 36.5 minutes in both games.

It only goes to show the faith that coach Leo Austria has in him, and validates what Ross was saying about Lassiter’s effectiveness despite his obvious struggles from the field.

Ross prodded Lassiter to keep taking shots and continuing to be aggressive despite the slump.

“I told him to be just aggressive, give yourself a chance, gets your shots up and get yourself going because he's a great shooter,” Ross said.

“He's making plays, he's playing defense, he's rebounding the ball and he's spacing the floor for us. He's doing a lot of great things for out there for us [even though] he's not making the shots," he added
