MARC Pingris and PJ Simon led tributes by Star players on their social media accounts to their former teammate James Yap after he was traded.
Pingris and Simon, two of Yap’s long-time teammates, posted on Instagram their message of thanks.
“Salamat ng marami tol!!!,” wrote Pingris on his @jeanmarc15 Instagram account.
Pingris has been Yap’s teammate from 2005 to 2008, and again from 2010 to 2016.

That partnership, however, ended on Thursday when Star agreed to send Yap to Rain or Shine for Paul Lee in perhaps one of the biggest trades in PBA history.
For his part, Simon, who has been Yap’s teammate since they entered the league in 2004, was obviously shocked by the trade.
All the best.”

Another Star cager Mark Barroca also thanked Yap for being a great teammate and friend.
“Thank you part sa five years nating magkasama sa team at five championships natin. Thank you sa pagiging mabuting teammate at higit sa lahat, mabuting kaibigan. Gold bless part sa imu,” wrote Barroca.
