Marc Pingris has one favor to ask from dad Vic Sotto on behalf of wounded soldiers

    Jun 4, 2014

SAN Mig forward Marc Pingris was so moved by his meeting with wounded soldiers confined at the AFP Medical Center that he is eyeing another mission for the nation's heroes.

And he wants the help of 'Bossing.'

Pingris said he wants to plan another mission for the wounded and incapacitated soldiers he met on Tuesday, adding he wants to bring some of them to a San Mig game or, better yet, to the top-rating noontime show 'Eat Bulaga' where his father-in-law Vic Sotto is one of the hosts.

    They Said It!

“Sana madala ko sila sa 'Eat Bulaga' or makiusap kay daddy (Vic Sotto) para mabigyan sila ng time para sumaya naman." San Mig forward Marc Pingris

“Sana makabalik pa ako rito,” Pingris told shortly after the team’s visit to the AFP hospital, which was held in coordination with the Hero Foundation.

"Kumbaga, gusto ko gumawa ng time na mabisita sila rito. At sana madala ko sila sa 'Eat Bulaga' or makiusap kay daddy (Vic Sotto) para mabigyan sila ng time para sumaya naman," he added.

The Gilas Pilipinas mainstay said a visit to Broadway Center to watch and interact with the 'Eat Bulaga' cast would surely bring joy to the wounded soldiers, most of whom are battling sadness and boredom owing to their long confinement in the hospital.

“Tinaya nila buhay nila para sa atin eh. Nakakataba ng puso para sa akin itong pagbisita. Kaya kung hindi man sa 'Eat Bulaga,' eh makanood man lang sila ng PBA games kasi ikaw ba naman six months ka dito (hospital) or four years ka nandito. Nakaka-bore naman or kung kayo-kayo lang ang nag-uusap,” he said.

A tough guy on the court, Pingris showed his soft side as he gamely signed autographs and posed for pictures with the soldiers along with the rest of the San Mig team.

“I’m so happy na nakadalaw kami. Eh instead na sila (soldiers) ang matuwa, kami ang natuwa kasi nabigyan namin sila ng time, dahil sobra-sobra na ang time at buhay na binigay nila (para sa atin),”  Pingris said.
