VIC Manuel was the first to breathe a sigh of relief as the situation between close friend Calvin Abueva and San Miguel coach Jorge Gallent finally resolved amicably.
"Buti nga nagbati na," said Manuel when asked about the two people both close to him.
The veteran forward was a bit affected following the incident between Abueva and Gallent, which had the Magnolia forward poking fun at the physical disability of the veteran coach.
Abueva has since been fined by the PBA Commissioner's office for P100,000.
At the same time, the San Sebastian college product said he already apologized to Gallent the same day the incident took place.
Both Abueva and Gallent were also seen hugging and talking to each other at the hallway of the Smart Araneta Coliseum just before Game 3, with the Magnolia star even planting a kiss on the cheek of Gallent
Manuel, who still has yet to play this season after undergoing knee procedure last November, said he has talked to Abueva a bit about the controversy.
Asked what he told to his close friend, Manuel replied, "Hindi tayo nagkukulang ng paalala diyan, alam mo yan."
After the Beermen went down for the first time in the finals, 88-80, Wednesday night in Game 3 at the Big Dome, Manuel hopes the Beermen would regain focus and be ready for Friday's game.
He's also hoping he'll finally be able to play even for a brief moment and go up against his best friend.
