MANNY Pacquiao was all smiles during the post-game interview that followed Kia Carnival’s thrilling 88-85 win over the Meralco Bolts during the final elimination round playdate of the PBA Governors Cup.
While the victory went for naught later after Ginebra escaped past NLEX to beat out the Carnival for the last quarterfinal berth, the Kia playing-coach still has enough reason to be ecstatic as the expansion team registered its best ever record in franchise history with a 5-6 (win-loss) slate by the end of its campaign in the season-ending conference.
And had the Road Warriors managed to beat the Kings, the Carnival could have made the playoffs for the first time in just its third conference in the league.
After capping the season with a win on its final game, Pacquiao is confident enough about the future of this young franchise.
