NEW team, new contract.
The camp of guard Gian Mamuyac will be seeking a new round of contract negotiations with Phoenix, which acquired him in a trade with Rain or Shine on Thursday for a first round rookie pick three years from now.
PJ Pilares of Titan Management Group said the promotional outfit will seek what the former Rain or Shine team captain failed to sign with the Welbest franchise.

“We will negotiate a new, three-year deal,” said Pilares shortly after the PBA Commissioner’s Office approved the trade that also included Rain or Shine’s second-round pick in Season 53.
Spin.ph learned Rain or Shine management also offered a three-deal to the 28-year-old Mamuyac, although the two parties failed to agree on the pay grade that TMG was seeking.
His previous contract with the Elasto Painters was auto-extended until the end of the season as per league rule since no new deal was forged between the two camps.

Mamu told Spin.ph in his final interview as an Elasto Painter that he was asking for a ‘slight salary increase’ which he said was fair enough.
The Ateneo guard is set to make his Phoenix debut on Sunday against Barangay Ginebra at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Mamuyac was the No.5 overall pick by Rain or Shine in the Season 47 draft.
During the last Commissioner’s Cup where the Elasto Painters reached the semifinals, he was the team’s second leading local scorer by averaging 13.11 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.
