A VETERAN presence like Stanley Pringle is certainly a welcome one for a young team like Rain or Shine.

Gian Mamuyac knows that the Elasto Painters can learn a thing or two from the 38-year-old Fil-Am moving forward when they eye to finally advance in the PBA finals in Season 50 after four straight semifinals appearances dating back to Season 48.

Signed as an unrestricted free agent in the off-season, Pringle has yet to arrive in the country, but is expected to be back by the first week of September and practice right away with the franchise.

Mamuyac said he can’t wait to have the four-time champion come on board for Rain or Shine.

“Alam naman natin kung gaano ka-talented si kuya Stan,” said Mamuyac, who’s under the Titan Management Group.

While Pringle will be of big help, the 26-year-old standout of Ateneo is also coming into his own as he enters his fourth year in the league.

A huge part of that is the continuous guidance he gets from Gabe Norwood who has been a big help for the Elasto Painters’ young guns experience-wise.

‘I’m learning from him (Norwood) every day sa practice, so dagdagan mo pa ng kuya Stan,” said Mamuyac.

“So being a sponge, learning as much as I can,” he added. “Excited ako kapag dumating na siya. Kukulitin ko ng kukulitin si kuya Stan.”

With Pringle adding championship experience to a Rain or Shine team that only has Norwood and Beau Belga having won a PBA title, Mamuyac is hopeful the Elasto Painters would finally reach the Promised Land.

“Hopefully makapag-finals naman, malagpasan naman namin yung semis kasi nakakasawa nang matalo sa semis,” he said.

“Sana naman makalagpas naman kami sa semis, and hopefully win a championship with coach Yeng.”
