MAHINDRA is losing its big men as quick as the notorious pickpockets in Quiapo.
On Wednesday, the Floodbuster roster for the coming 42nd season of the PBA got even smaller following its decision to send Bradwyn Guinto to NLEX for the pair of young guns Jeckster Apinan and Renen Celda.
Under the deal which was approved by management of both teams and whose papers had been submitted to the Commissioner’s Office, the Road Warriors are also set to acquire undersized forward Chito Jaime.
The 6-foot-6 Guinto, entering his sophomore season, will be the third big man Mahindra will be losing to other teams in a week’s span.
Just last Monday the Floodbuster traded stretch four Aldrech Ramos to Star for big guard Alex Mallari, then the following day, let go of free agent KG Canaleta, who ended up going to Globalport.
NLEX team manager Ronald Dulatre confirmed the four-player trade with Mahindra to SPIN.ph
Guinto has been advised to already show up in the Road Warriors' practice on Thursday.
The departure of Guinto left the Floodbuster with only veteran Jason Ballesteros and rookie Russel Escoto as their legitimate frontcourtmen.
Aside from Celda and Apinan, the players acquired by the franchise are mostly guards and wingmen, including Mallari, and Ryan Arana, who Mahindra acquired from San Miguel in exchange for Keith Agovida.
