BIÑAN , Laguna - LA Revilla was surprised to get called for a technical foul for spitting on the floor late in Mahindra’s 102-96 win over San Miguel Beer in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Saturday at the Alonte Sports Arena.

The Enforcers playmaker was about to take the second of two charities with a little over a minute remaining when a referee blew his whistle after Revilla spit on the floor.

“Oo, (nagulat ako),” Revilla said in a short chat with Spin.ph after the game. “Bawal daw.”

Deputy commissioner Rickie Santos confirmed the act merits a technical under league rules.

“Nasa rule book ‘yun,” he said.

Lucky for the Enforcers, Marcio Lassiter missed the technical free throw, Revilla converted his second charity, and his team held on for the upset victory.

Mahindra coach Chito Victolero was thankful the technical didn't cost his team a win.

“I don’t know (tawag ng referee),” the Enforcers coach said. “Mabait pa rin ang Panginoon.”
