MAHINDRA gets a timely shot in the arm as Niño Canaleta is set to make his return in the team’s playoff for the fourth spot in the PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinals against Meralco on Wednesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The Enforcer star, who missed the last three games after undergoing an appendectomy, has been practicing with the team for the last week and a half and was reactivated on Tuesday.
“He’s a great added boost to our rotation again,” Enforcer coach Chris Gavina said in a text message to SPIN.ph on the eve of the 4:15 p.m. matchup against the Bolts.
Canaleta, who averaged 12.6 points on 2.3 three-point conversions, along with 3.4 boards in 25 minutes in six games this conferences, rejoins the young squad that struggled without him in the lineup, losing their last three games of the elimination round.
Chito Jaime and playing coach Manny Pacquiao were also activated on Tuesday along with new signing Philip Paniamogan.
In their place, Joshua Webb was dropped to the reserve list, while Raymond Aguilar, Leo de Vera, and AJ Mandani were relegated to unrestricted free agent list.
