JIO Jalalon lifted Magnolia to its first win in the PBA Philippine Cup after beating Meralco, 92-86, on Saturday at the Xavier University gym in Cagayan De Oro.
Jalalon had a near double-double, finishing with 19 points and nine rebounds after playing in front of his hometown fans as the Hotshots finally nailed their first win in four outings.
The Cagayan De Oro native also hit nine points, two of which on threes, to lead the Hotshots to an 89-82 lead in the fourth quarter.
The Hotshots took control of the Petron Saturday Special match after that as they finally took the win after going 0-3 to start the conference.
