BIG men Russel Escoto and Joseph Eriobu are staying put at Magnolia.
Former Gilas special draftee Escoto and 3x3 star player Eriobu were given fresh contracts by the Hotshots as part of the team’s roster plan for the coming PBA Season 50 under new head coach LA Tenorio.
Both Escoto, 32, and Eriobu, 33, were all smiles as they signed their new contracts and shook hands with Magnolia team manager Alvin Patrimonio.

Escoto was given a two-year deal, while Eriobu was renewed for a season.
Tenorio was also present during the contract signing along with Marvin Espiritu of the Espiritu Manotoc Basketball Management, which represents both Eriobu and Escoto.
This will be the fifth season of the 6-foot-6 forward with the Hotshots, who acquired him from Terrafirma in a trade for a second-round pick in 2021.

Eriobu for his part, will be playing in his third season with the franchise, which elevated him from its 3x3 team two years ago where the former Mapua standout served as the face of Magnolia.
Both men were grateful for the continued trust of Magnolia management despite the dawning of a new era in franchise history following the appointment of Tenorio as new head coach to replace Chito Victolero.
“New system ang pinag-aaralan ng team ngayon,” said Escoto, who nonetheless was also thankful for the breaks given him by Victolero.
Escoto and Eriobu were the latest players to be given renewals by Magnolia after former San Beda guard Peter Alfaro, who was given a new three-year contract.
