MAGNOLIA Chicken Timplados tries to keep its undefeated slate under a different setting when it faces Rain or Shine in their first out-of-town game of the season in Cagayan de Oro City.
The Hotshots take on the Elasto Painters at 6:15 p.m. at the Aquilino Pimintel International Convention Center.
After winning their seventh straight game against San Miguel last December 10, the Hotshots were able to seal their place in the quarterfinal round.
Magnolia coach Chito Victolero, however, said he wants no letup from his players since the team hasn’t accomplished anything yet.

“We will not stop here,” said Victolero. “This is only the beginning. We know na malayo pa. Nagpapasalamat kami na we have the blessing na nasa quarters na kami. But the ultimate goal is go to all the way.”
With playoff seat now intact, Magnolia now tries to capture one of the four twice-to-beat incentives in the quarterfinals.
One team that is still chasing for a quarterfinal seat is Rain or Shine, which is in a share of eighth place with a 2-5 win-loss record.
Rain or Shine is in on a roll as of late, winning two straight games including a 113-101 victory over NLEX last December 8.
One of the keys to the two victories for Rain or Shine is their import Tree Treadwell, who is averaging 18.5 points and 18 rebounds in the winning streak.
Another sidelight to the game is Jio Jalalon of Magnolia and Rey Nambatac of Rain or Shine playing in their hometown.
