MAGNOLIA won over NLEX, 107-93, on Wednesday in a tune-up game at the Ronac Center as the reigning champions continued its build-up for the PBA Governors’ Cup.
Romeo Travis had 22 points, Jio Jalalon scored 20 and Mon Abundo added 14 for the Hotshots, who also got 10 from Ian Sangalang.
It was a big win for the Hotshots after an 87-83 loss to Barangay Ginebra last week in a tuneup game.
“Marami akong nakitang positive. Meron din kaming nakitang kailangan iimprove. Overall, very happy doon sa ginawa namin kasi almost four weeks na kaming nagpapractice. In terms of condition kulang pa, sa execution kulang pa. Pero nabigyan nila ako ng mas magandang performance compared sa last week. Pero kulang pa,” said Magnolia coach Chito Victolero.
Yeng Guiao returned to the sidelines for NLEX on Wednesday a day after he arrived together with Gilas Pilipinas following its campaign in the Fiba Basketball World Cup.
Gilas player Kiefer Ravena also suited up for NLEX, scoring seven points.
Olu Ashaolu finished with 21 points, and JR Quinahan added 20 points for the Road Warriors.
