ANTIPOLO – A minimal fine awaits Magnolia deputy coach Johnny Abarrientos for making an obscene gesture on Converge import Jamaal Franklin in the final minute of their highly-physical PBA Governors Cup game at the Ynares Center.
Commissioner Willie Marcial said he tried calling the PBA legend shortly after the game when photos of Abarrientos sticking out a dirty finger on Franklin went viral on social media on Sunday night.
The FiberExers won the game, 111-109.
The incident happened after Franklin hit a dagger three-pointer as the shot clock was winding down, giving the FiberXers a 111-105 lead with 1:04 to play.
Marcial said Abarrientos has yet to respond to his call.
