MAGNOLIA and Alaska finally make their PBA Philippine Cup debut on Sunday when they face separate rivals at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Hotshots go up against TNT at 6:45 p.m., while the Aces take on Rain or Shine at 4:30 p.m.
Both teams are fresh from a grueling Governors’ Cup finals campaign with the Hotshots beating the Aces in six games.
Magnolia begins its quest to return to the Philippine Cup finals after finishing runner-up to San Miguel last year.
Alaska, meanwhile, will play its first game of the season with assistant coach Jeff Cariaso calling the shots for the match against Rain or Shine. Head coach Alex Compton arriving in the country only on Saturday after attending to family matters.
Both teams are expected to have their hands full against their respective opponents.
TNT has already played five games and hold a 2-3 record, out to bounce back after suffering an 88-77 loss to Meralco last Wednesday.
Rain or Shine, meanwhile, is fresh from a 108-98 win over four-time reigning champion San Miguel last Friday and hold a 3-1 record.
