PBA player Mark 'Macmac' Cardona has been transferred to the Makati Medical Center as his condition continued to improve after overdosing on pills in what his sister said was an apparent suicide attempt.
Cardona, 34, was rushed to the University of Perpetual Help Hospital in Las Pinas on Sunday evening after overdosing on prescription pills, even posting a picture of the cocktale on his Instagram account just hours earlier.
The former La Salle star was listed in stable condition at the intensive care unit (ICU) on Sunday evening and was moved to the Makati Medical Center - one of the companies under the Manny V. Pangilinan Group - on the midnight of Monday.
Cardona is currently on the injured reserve list of MVP-owned PBA team NLEX Road Warriors after getting injured while riding an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) months ago.

"His condition is improving but he cannot yet accept visitors as advised by his Doctors. We'll keep you posted on his development," said NLEX team manager Ronald Dulatre in a statement.
"The management will continue to provide whatever assistance he may need during his recovery," he added. "Meantime, let's continue to pray for his fast recovery."
