HENRY Sims is good, both on and off the court.
That was how former Georgetown Hoya Vernon Macklin described the incoming import of a Petron team that has encountered problems with its two previous imports.
"He's a very nice guy," said the Ginebra import of Sims, who is set to arrive on Wednesday morning. “He’s got a great attitude, he is a young guy. He just wants to work hard to make it to the next level (NBA).”
Petron has had a traumatic experience with imports so far in the PBA Commissioner's Office, losing the amazing Renaldo Balkman when he was banned for a meltdown and dispatching Rodney White after just two games.
There won't be a repeat of the Balkman horror show with Sims, Macklin said.
“He’s a good guy,” he said.
Macklin also assured that Sims will live up to expectations, saying the seven-foot Baltimore, Maryland native has a nice touch from the perimeter and decent dribbling skills for a player his height.
In fact, Sims is an NBA potential, Macklin said.
“With his height, he is good. He can shoot. He got skills for his height,” said Macklin of the 23-year-old. “He’s got a great college career."
