ANTIPOLO - Blackwater ace Mac Belo admitted he was still groping for form in a 93-118 loss to San Miguel in the PBA Governors' Cup on Saturday at the Ynares Center here.
Sidelined for four months by a knee injury, Belo said while cleared to play, he is far from top shape as he is undergoing rehab.
Still, Belo managed to score 14 points and grab four rebounds in 25 minutes of action as the Elite tried to buck the absence of injured import Travis Simpson.
"Sa ngayon, di ko masabing 100 percent ako kasi may rehab pa ko," he said.
"Pero pwede naman, may clearance naman na ko sa doctor na maglaro. Nilalaro ko lang para masanay," he added. "Naninibago pa ako pero masasanay din."
Now that he's back with the team after a stint with Gilas Pilipinas in the Jones Cup, Belo is hoping his presence will eventually help turn things around for the Elite, who are winless in three outings.
"Siguro mas marami kaming dapat ayusin. Umpisahan namin sa practice. Malaki naman yung tiwala ko kina coach at sa coaching staff namin," he said.
"Syempre alam nila yung gagawin sa team namin. Play as a team pa rin kami."
