PHOENIX seeks to move even closer to the leaders as the Fuel Masters face the San Miguel Beermen on Friday in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Fuel Masters take on the Beermen at 7 p.m.
Phoenix sits at fourth place in a tie with Blackwater with a 6-2 win-loss mark ahead of its match against San Miguel.
The Fuel Masters beat NLEX, 123-97, on Wednesday on head coach Louie Alas’ 55th birthday. Alas later told his players he will be happier if the Fuel Masters win their match against perennial contender SMB.
The Beermen are currently struggling, losing three straight games to fall to 2-3. This despite the impressive play of import Kevin Murphy, who is averaging 41 points in two games with San Miguel.
In the first game, struggling teams NorthPort and Meralco clash at 4:30 p.m.
The Batang Pier are coming off a 118-101 win over Columbian last Friday to finally pick up a win after six games.
The Bolts have lost five games in a row including a 111-105 loss to Ginebra last Sunday.
