ASIDE from Reynel Hugnatan, another 40-year-old is defying Father time in the person of Rafi Reavis.
The second oldest active player in the league has been providing quality minutes for Magnolia inside the bubble. And although his numbers aren’t as high as that of Hugnatan, the 43-year-old remains effective for the Hotshots.
Reavis is now averaging 4.86 points and 5.43 rebounds for the Hotshots following their 103-89 win over Terrafirma on Thursday. The Magnolia big man started in back-to-back days and delivered both times.
Reavis had six points and four rebounds in nearly 30 minutes of play against TNT on Wednesday, and followed it up with a two-point, five-rebound performance in 26 minutes against Terrafirma on Thursday.
The 6-foot-8 center has consistently also been on the floor in the crucial stages of the game as well.

More than the numbers, Magnolia coach Chito Victolero said the intangibles Reavis brings to the table are more valuable.
“Grabe ang character at discipline ni Rafi,” said Victolero, a former teammate of Reavis during their days with the San Juan Knights in the MBA. “Makikita mo naman ‘yung kanyang nilalaro ngayon. High level.”
Victolero said that with the absence of Marc Pingris in the bubble, Reavis has taken an added role as a leader in the team.
“He is my anchor on defense especially ‘yung leadership niya,” said Victolero. “’Yun ang pinaka-importante sa akin. Without Ping, right now, si Paul and Rafi ang pinaka-leader namin. Ang laking influence ni Rafi sa team namin.
"I’m very happy kasi nagagawa niya ang role niya hindi lang off the court, but inside the court.”
