RAIN or Shine guard Paul Lee is now under observation after banging his head to the floor during a loose ball scramble in the dying minutes of the Elasto Painters' PBA Commissioner's Cup game against Barangay Ginebra on Sunday night.
Lee's foot got entangled with Mark Caguioa's as they chased a loose ball in mid-court, causing the sophomore guard to lose his balance and hit the back of his head hard on the floor.
He started writhing in pain while lying on the floor as doctors rushed to the court.
“Ang lakas nung umpog, kaya pagkabagok ko namilipit na ako agad sa sakit,” said Lee, his head still hurting at the end of the game.
Although Lee managed to return and finish the match for the Painters, PBA physician Wendell Lozano, told Spin.ph the incident is alarming and that he has asked Rain or Shine’s team doctor to monitor Lee.
“Sabi ko obserbahan nila ng 24 hours, dapat hindi siya mahilo, mag-headache, or magkaroon ng problema sa paglalakad, kasi we don’t know kung ano yung nangyari, ulo yun eh,” said Dr. Lozano.
“Kailangang i-observe kung maging antukin siya o magsuka. Dapat bantayan, kasi pwedeng may head injury o concussion,” the league doctor warned.
