THE PBA has sanctioned Larry Muyang with an indefinite ban for breach of contract after playing in another league even with a live contract with Phoenix.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial announced Muyang’s penalty following a meeting with the Phoenix player on Sunday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Marcial said Muyang can appeal for the llifting of the ban to the league’s board of governors.
According to Phoenix, Muyang has been playing for the Pampanga Giant Lanterns in the MPBL while still under contract with the PBA team until the end of May.

Aside from the ban, Marcial said Muyang could also be facing a lawsuit for breach of contract if Phoenix chooses to go down that route.
“Ang status niya ngayon is ban sa PBA. Puwede siyang i-demanda ng Phoenix. Kausap ko siya kanina, may mga problema siya pero sabi ko, maski ganun, may kontrata ka sa Phoenix,” said Marcial.
Marcial said the remedy to appeal to the board is part of the new ruling of the league in cases related to breach of contract.
“May bagong ruling na kapag na-ban ka dahil hindi ka [sumunod] sa kontrata, kahit um-okay na ang team mo, kailangan umapela sa board of governors,” said Marcial.
The 29-year-old Muyang was drafted No. 7 by Phoenix in 2020.
