THE ongoing Philippine Cup finals between San Miguel and Alaska has evoked memories of Beermen import Lamont Strothers’ time in the PBA.
Strothers recently reacted to a tweet by Spin.ph about the ongoing Philippine Cup Finals between San Miguel and Alaska where his former team was down 1-3 going to Game Five on Wednesday.
The tweet, Strothers said, reminded him of his playing days with San Miguel and playing against Alaska, mentioning former league MVP Kenneth Duremdes, a former Alaska player.
“Wow, SMB vs Alaska! Hatfields and McCoys! Memories of the battles w/ one of PBA's best, Duremdes!” wrote Strothers on his Twitter account.

Strothers was one of the best imports in the history of the PBA, having won the 1999 Governors’ Cup for the Beermen. Incidentally, he helped the team win the title that conference against, yes, Alaska, 4-2.
Now 47, Strothers is currently the coach of the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy boys basketball team.
