CALASIAO, Pangasinan - It was an individual feat achieved through a collective effort.
LA Tenorio admitted the triple-double effort he did in Sunday's PBA All-Star game wouldn't be possible without the help of his North teammates and coaching staff.
With just about everybody encouraging him to go for it, Tenorio obliged and achieved the landmark late in the North's 185-170 win over South Sunday night at the Calasiao Sports Complex.
Tenorio finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 15 assists to record an All-Star triple double for the first time since Jio Jalalon did the trick last year.
"Thankful ako sa teammates and coaches ko kasi they supported me the whole game para mahabol ko yung triple-double," said Tenorio, who was actually also in the running for the All-Star MVP plum which Japeth Aguilar and Arwind Santos eventually shared.
Tenorio knew early on he was on course for a triple-double.
"Actually first half pa lang alam ko na," said the PBA"s newest Iron Man.
"Nine assists na kasi ako first quarter pa lang."
His teammates later paved the way for him to get the milestone.
"Very happy kasi not only nagawa ko yung triple-double, but my teammates supported me talaga," said Tenorio.
Jio Jalalon also delivered a triple-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists in a losing cause for the South team
League chief statistician Fidel Mangonon III noted however, that this marked the first All-Star game in which two players ended up with a triple-double.
