BOCAUE — Ginebra came up with a fiery start to the season, but LA Tenorio believes there are still a lot of things to be improved on as they look to finally get that elusive Philippine Cup title in the PBA.
Tenorio said his squad looked far from solid even after Ginebra opened its season in style with an 89-78 win over Magnolia on Mondat at the Philippine Arena.
“It’s a great start for the season but marami pa kaming kailangang gawin at saka parang hindi pa ganoon ka-satisfied,” said Tenorio who finished with 15 points, eight assists and five steals.
“Yes we won the game pero kumbaga marami pa kaming dapat iimprove as a team,” he added.
The 33-year-old guard said he is assessing their mistakes, particularly with ball handling as they turned the ball over 18 times in this game.
“Para nga sakin, yung panalo na to, we need to take a look at it. Kasi yung panalo will hide all the lapses. Syempre pag nanalo ka akala mo lahat ng ginagawa niyo tama,” Tenorio continued.
"Pwede namang off night lang sila tonight, at sinwerte lang sila doon. Ang sinasabi ko hindi kami naging solid sa game na to."
He's not rushing though, believing that his team will get there in time especially with the way they're pushing themselves in practices.
"We’re not expecting it right away na maging solid kami like championship form playoff form kami. Unti unti naman yun eh. We have to get better every day, Every practice," said Tenorio.
"Kami yung pinaka huling nag practice eh. You’ll see more na maging disiplinado at saka medyo maganda ang laro namin."
