EXPECT LA Tenorio to feel brand-new when he suits up for Barangay Ginebra come the PBA 43rd season starting on December 17.

The veteran point guard underwent a successful procedure on his hurting elbow that had been bothering him since his playing days with Alaska.

The procedure was done a few hours after the Kings retained the Governors Cup title with a 101-96 victory over the Meralco Bolts in a Game 7 at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.

“So far the healing is doing well. It’s been two days na (since the operation),” said Tenorio, who showed up for the Barangay Ginebra victory party at the SMC head office on Monday with his right elbow bandaged.

“Hopefully for the next two days magalaw ko na full range.”

Despite the elbow injury, Tenorio still played well enough in the title series against the Bolts that he ended up being named anew as the PBA Press Corps-Cignal Finals MVP of the season-ending meet for the second straight year.

He finished with 26 points and was 5-of-8 from three-point range.

Win or lose in the winner-take-all match, the 33-year-old guard from Nasugbu, Batangas was scheduled for the procedure to remove the bone spurs on his elbow.

“Good timing na rin kasi mahaba yung break ng off-season,” said Tenorio, who has a month and half to recuperate. “At least mahaba ang pahinga. Kumbaga brand new tayo next season.”
