THERE shouldn’t be no concern about LA Tenorio’s health following a collision with Ranidel De Ocampo on Wednesday in Barangay Ginebra’s win over Meralco.

The PBA’s new Ironman had a few anxious moments in the second half of the Kings’ 86-76 win over the Bolts when Tenorio collided with De Ocampo. But Tenorio said there is nothing to worry about his streak that now stands at 599 games being broken by the incident.

Tenorio said he is even worried about De Ocampo, whose shoulder hit the knee of the Meralco star.

“Tinamaan. Pero ang iniisip ko si Randiel kasi tinamaan ko ‘yung tuhod niya. Tinamaan ko dito. Sakit. Hindi kaagad ako nakahinga. Pero okay naman, buhay pa naman,” said Tenorio.

“Malayo sa bituka. Ang inaalala ko si Ranidel aksi tinamaan ‘yung tuhod niya. Medyo panget ‘yung pagkatama,” said Tenorio.

Both Tenorio and De Ocampo went on to finish the match with Tenorio tallying eight points and six assists, and De Ocampo adding seven points and 11 rebounds.

“Bukas pa ‘to. Bukas pa masakit,” said Tenorio.

Being a true Ironman of the PBA, Tenorio though said he has no plans of slowing down even with Wednesday’s victory even with the coming All-Star break coming. Even though it had already bagged the number three seed, Ginebra will still play a game next Wednesday after the All-Star break against NorthPort in a game with much more importance for the Batang Pier rather than the Kings.

“Puwede nga naming gawin this game but we cannot do that especially going to the playoffs. May karma eh. We just have to play hard and play our game,” said Tenorio.

The 34-year-old Tenorio admitted the All-Star break will definitely be a momentum-breaker especially with seven players seeing action in the annual event in Calasiao, Pangasinan.

But Tenorio said the team should just deal with the situation the best it can.

“Ang goal naman talaga namin this conference is to clinch minimum top six para at least makapaglaro kami ng best-of-three. Bigger chance compared to twice-to-win. Maganda sana kung twice-to-beat but this is our situation right now. We have good momentum coming into the playoffs. Sayang lang medyo mapuputol because of the All-Star but that break naman is for us to take a break and give fans a treat. We cannot really take a break because playoffs is coming.

“May game pa kami on Wednesday para makapag-refresh and magkaroon ng game shape and be ready for the playoffs. We just have to be ready,” said Tenorio.

“We still have a chance to get the championship. Hindi kami puwede mag-let down just because of this All-Star break,” said Tenorio.
