ROOKIE Kyt Jimenez doesn’t mind having his hair cut as long as it meant winning the PBA Commissioner’s Cup title for San Miguel.
The freshman guard disclosed the deal he had with seven-time MVP June Mar Fajardo that he’ll allow his long hair to be cut should the Beermen take home their 29th championship.

On Wednesday night, Jimenez saw part of his locks trimmed by Fajardo and the rest of his teammates as San Miguel wrapped up the title series against the Magnolia Hotshots via 104-102 win in Game 6 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Naging deal namin yun nila kuya June Mar and coach Chris (Ross) na once mag-champion, automatic gupit talaga,” he said. “Sa totoo lang, gusto nga nila akong kalbuhin, pero huwag naman. Kasi pag kinalbo ako, baka tumambay ako ng bahay ng isang buwan.”
'Pinaka-best na araw para sa akin'
Of course, he doesn’t mind. It’s rare for a rookie player to be champion right away in his first conference in the league, more so, the former University of Perpetual Help playmaker who was selected in the ninth round (no. 76 overall) in the last rookie draft.
“Worth it. Sobra. Tapos rookie pa ako, champion na ako,” he declared. “Ito ang pinaka the best na araw para sa akin.”
Jimenez said he began wearing his hair long during the pandemic, a look he carried since then all the way to his entry to the PBA.
But now that his hair has been cut short, he plans to totally change his image for good.
“Pero papagupitan ko pa ito. Kaya pagdating siguro ng Philippine Cup, new hairstyle,” said the flamboyant playmaker.
