EVERYTHING now depends on Kyt Jimenez.
San Miguel management said the sophomore guard has already sought its blessings on the possibility of him playing for the Zamboanga Valientes starting in the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship.
Team manager Gee Abanilla told Spin.ph that Jimenez, 27, was courteous enough to ask for permission from the organization, well aware he still has a live contract with the team that runs until the end of December this year.

“In fairness sa bata, kinausap niya naman kami and nagpaalam siya ng maayos,” said Abanilla prior to the Beermen’s departure for Japan for their East Asia Super League (EASL) game against the Hiroshima Dragonflies.
Jimenez, the No. 76 pick of San Miguel in the Season 48 draft, has been relegated to the Unrestricted Free Agent (with rights to salary) list by the team prior to the start of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
He has since verbally agreed to play for the Valientes, but no contract has yet been signed with team owner Junnie Navarro.

“Ang alam ko may inaayos pa sila sa kontrata niya,” according to Abanilla.
Once he opts to take his act to Zamboanga, Jimenez’s remaining contract with San Miguel will already be considered null and void.
“Yes (terminated na). Hind ka naman puwedeng double contract,” according to Abanilla.
Jimenez played a total of three games in his last active stint with San Miguel in the Governors’ Cup, averaging 2.6 points and 1.0 rebound.
The Beermen missed out on a finals stint in the season-opening conference, losing to Barangay Ginebra Kings in six games of their semifinals series.
