KYLOR Kelley is set to arrive in the country on Saturday to serve as Converge import in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The FiberXers have yet to make an official announcement on the hiring of the 7-foot American who briefly played in the NBA last season, although a team insider did confirm to Spin.ph about Kelley’s scheduled arrival this weekend.
Defense is what the 28-year-old Kelley will bring to the table for Converge.
The all-time leader in shot blocks in Oregon State history is expected to form an intimidating frontcourt for the FiberXers especially in the presence of their Twin Towers in Justine Baltazar and Justin Arana.
Although undrafted in the NBA in 2020, Kelley was able to briefly play for the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans in 2025.
He did have an extensive experience seeing action in the G. League for teams such as the Austin Spurs, Raptors 905, Maine Celtics, and the South Bay Lakers.
Kelley was once named a member of the G. League All-Defensive Team and was a former G. League shot block leader.
The native of Logan, Utah likewise had overseas stints in England, Denmark, Canada, and Italy.
Kelley is looking to help the FiberXers reach the semifinals for the first time in franchise history after coming close of achieving the feat in the season opener Philippine Cup when they lost to Barangay Ginebra in overtime in their do-or-die duel for a Final Four berth.
