KJ McDaniels is aware Allen Durham is a two-time Best Import awardee who twice made it to the finals of the PBA Governors Cup.
And so McDaniels is trying to make it a personal challenge going up against Meralco's thorougbred import.
"Most definitely I want to be that way with Allen. A great player and that's the challenge for me, to get even better," said the TnT Katropa import.
"He'a force to be reckoned with."
Round 1 went McDaniels'way as the Katropa ripped the Bolts in Game 1 of their semifinals series, 103-94, on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The TnT import got the better of Durham in their personal match-up, finishing with 38 points anf 14 rebounds.
Durham had a slow start, but caught fire in the final quarter when he scored half of his total output of 32 points.
He also had a monster 21 rebounds and tried to spark the Bolts' rally from 22 points down in a rally that fell short in the end.
McDaniels said the Katropa couldn't let Durham do the same thing again after the Bolts came close enough to trim the deficit to eight.
"We just have to find a way to limit him and make his teammates do a lot," said the NBA veteran.
That's why McDaniels want to make this a personal thing with Durham.
