KIEFER Ravena is happy with the work he was able to put in during the quarantine period in the buildup for the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup bubble season.
A beefier Ravena entered the bubble last week and the bulkier frame didn't escape veteran NLEX teammate Asi Taulava during an NLEX workout at the Quest Plus Conference Center in Clark, Pampanga.
“Kief got me feeling little in the lab,” wrote Taulava.
The photo garnered comments both good and bad, prompting Ravena’s sister Dani to wage war on his bashers on Sunday night.
For the former Ateneo star, the buff physique was the product of his hard work during the lockdown. Kiefer said one of the things he was able to do with time in his hands was add muscle during the extended offseason.
“Nung lockdown kasi, I tried my best to stay in shape,” said Ravena. “Marami kasing hindi alam ‘yung tao na porket nagpapalaki ng katawan, mukha akong mataba, or wala sa kundisyon. Pero what I did with my trainer was to trim down a little and convert fat into muscle mass kaya mukha akong bulky.”

With the help of trainer Justin Aquino, Ravena was able to put on the muscle he felt he needed in order to take on the pounding in his third season in the PBA.
Ravena assured his playing style will not be compromised with his new physique. Aquino made sure of that over the course of the training.
“Never naman ako pumayat sa career ko kasi that’s how my body is. ‘Yun ‘yung build ng katawan ko," said the NLEX star. "We tried to maximize everything without losing explosiveness speed and power."
