KIEFER Ravena officially became NLEX’s new star on Thursday afternoon when he signed his rookie contract at the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation office in Makati.
This year’s second overall pick agreed to the maximum salary allowed for rookies worth approximately P8.5 million and spread over three years.
The 24-year-old Ravena is set to receive a monthly salary of P150,000 on his first year, P225,000 on the second, before getting paid P337,500 on the last year of his rookie deal.
The celebrated playmaker out of Ateneo came with parents Bong and Mozzy and signed his contract in the presence of NLEX bosses, led by MPTC president Rod Franco and incoming PBA chairman Mon Fernandez.
“Very happy and excited to be part of NLEX,” Ravena said in a text message after the contract-signing.
