KIEFER Ravena has joined the chorus of players expressing well wishes for long-time basketball rival Jeron Teng after the Alaska guard and two other former La Salle players were stabbed in a parking lot fight early on Sunday.
“Hopefully, he recovers fast kasi maganda ang nilaro niya sa huling game nila and knowing him, kaya niya magtuloy-tuloy,” he said, expressing support for his fellow rookie.
Though the two have been on opposing sides since their amateurs days, the two have developed mutual respect before teaming up in a Fiba 3x3 event.
When Ravena tested positive for performance enhancing drugs and was handed an 18-month ban by Fiba last week, Teng was one of the firsts to publicly back his fellow rookie.
“It could have been any of us. Stay strong @kieferravena ! #KiefTheFaith,” the Alaska winger tweeted.
Teng, former La Salle players Norbert Torres and Thomas Torres were hospitalized on Sunday after suffering stab wounds in a brawl in a Bonifacio Global City parking lot.
“Unfortunate na nangyari yun. I’m sure they were just trying to have fun and enjoy, tapos na-ganoon pa sila,” said the NLEX guard said. “Ang important thing siguro ngayon is magpasalamat tayong lahat na buhay silang tatlo.”
