IT was a perfect ending for an impeccable showing in the PBA Draft Combine for Kiefer Ravena.
Ravena wrapped up the annual conclave among PBA rookie hopefuls by helping his A-2 team run away with an 83-72 win over the B-3 team led by rival Jeron Teng to win the mini-tournament's championship on Tuesday.
A day after topping three of five tests, Ravena dazzled in the finals with 12 points, including key baskets in the fourth period where they pulled away to win the title.
"Siguro ako lumabas lang talaga yung pagka-competitive, ayoko talaga magpatalo," said Ravena, who was named tournament MVP.
"Kahit yung mga maliliit na competitions na ganito, sinimulan ko ng combine, yung sa mga skills. Sinabi ko sa sarili ko na dalawang araw lang 'to. So after na lang nito saka ka na lang magpahinga."
It was Jason Perkins, though, who led the team in scoring with 20 points. Robbie Herndon and Lervin Flores added 18 and 13 markers, respectively.
Ravena and Co. turned a slim 63-57 lead into a 71-61 spread entering the final four minutes, and never looked back.
Teng paced B-3 with 23 points, John Grospe added 18, while Dan Sara finished with 10.
Meanwhile, the Jett Manuel-led A-1 team wound up third after a thrilling 59-55 win over the B-2 squad.
