KIA has signed Dan Sara and Roider Cabrera in time for the opening of the PBA season on Sunday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed but the contracts were signed on Wednesday in the presence of KIA team manager Joe Lipa and player agent Ed Ponceja.
Sara was drafted by Phoenix in the third round of this year’s PBA rookie draft but was left unsigned, allowing KIA to acquire the services of the former San Beda Red Lions guard.
Sara left his hometown of Cagayan De Oro when he was 14 years old to play for the Red Cubs under legendary coach Ato Badolato. He was also once a part of the national youth team.
Cabrera was undrafted in 2014 but the former Adamson cager bounced around in the PBA and the PBA D-League.
